Onyado Nono Matsumoto Natural Hot Spring

I love that I can walk around without shoes, the Onsen, ice cream and comics on the top floor. There’s also a small portion of ramen for supper. Location is great too. Good breakfast spread - both Japanese and western. Very close to the train station. Magnificent!

A little noise from the cars on street

The hotel is conveniently located 15 minutes walk from the train station and about 20-30 to the center (castle, museums, restaurants). Having a hot spring bath in the hotel was very nice (the reason we stayed there) and we did enjoy it. Ice-cream bar and cold pillows were a nice touch

The room was very small, but I expected this. What really surpised me, however, was that the onsen (hot spring bath) pictures posted were far different from how it actually looked on the women's side (I suppose the pictures were depicting the men's side). On the posted images, you see a lovely city skyline view both from the inside bath and from the open-air bath. In reality, the windows are completely covered by ugly plywood boards. It was ridiculous and made no sense. I suspect the reason is modesty, but the onsen was on the 10th floor, and there were no tall buildings nearby, so until there are flying cars, nobody can look into those windows. It felt like being in the prison bath houses rather than in a nice onsen. It was still nice to be in hot water, but what a disappointment! Good breakfast, popsicles during the day, and noodles at night. Great location close to station. Onsen facilities very nice and clean.

Bed and pillow were too hard for my preference.

It's a super clean and beautiful hotel with tatami mats throughout. The buffet breakfast is outstanding and the onset is very nice too.

The room is very small...it is my only complaint. It is vey comfortable and has a nice shower.

Excellent value. Very convenient location walking distance to trains, buses & restaurants. Comfortable accommodations. Onsen. Delicious breakfasts.

The room was spacious and comfortable enough. The cleanliness was at a very good level in both the room and the bathroom. All the staff were very kind. The onsen was relatively small, but nice. I especially liked the small outdoor pool, as I found the indoor pool very warm. The water in both pools was around 40 degrees Celsius.

We stayed at this hotel for the trip to Kamikochi on the following day which unfortunately the weather let us down. However the staff managed to sell us a pair of umbrellas. The hotel location is within walking distance to the bus and train station (8 min walk) which is very convenient for use to carry our luggage to the station. It is also within walking distance to the Toyota car rental drop off place. Its a new experience to remove shoes at the entrance however there are plenty of lockers. The room size is relatively more spacious than the hotels in Tokyo. The room itself is very clean with all the utilities provided including the pyjamas and slippers for the trip to the Onsen. There is also a dedicated smoking room inside the hotel. The highlight for me is the breakfast with not only very ample choice but also freshly fried prawn, chicken and mushroom tempura which are my favourite. There are plenty of restaurants and convenient stores nearby. We can tell that this hotel is very popular with a lot of guests going for breakfast.

Nothing really apart from the hotel is right by the main road and when we arrive we have to temporarily park just around the corner.

Onyado Nono is my favourite hotel chain in Japan. They're always good, easy and predictable. The onsen at Matsumoto isn't as big as Kyoto, but the rooftop onsen has incredible views. The food was also really good.

My only minor complain is that you need to pay extra for parking (1200 JPY). The hotel's parkade was full when we arrived, so we had to circle the block and park in another parkade. It was slightly confusing, but it worked out well in the end.

Nice onsen, nice breakfast, location, friendly helpful staff. Location is no frills but convenient, close to everything. Free late night meal. Bath robes. Somehow onsen was never busy.

The price. Expensive. The most expensive room in Japan during my 3 weeks trip. It is a standard hotel with a nice onsen. Efficient and well run though.

Hotel had a wonderful buffet breakfast, so much variety that included western and Japanese cuisines. The late night free noodles were delicious too! Hotel premises were shoes free, all guests had to lock up shoes at the entrance. Rooms were smaller but it felt cozy instead of felling cramped. Hotel is 10 mins walk from Matsumoto station which is convenient.

I loved the food that came with the onsen + onsen. Also the room was large and very comfortable, very clean and with many toiletries. Also loved the robes and slippers but the sizes are limited.

I felt like the staff was a little curt and not very helpful. They were very hands off. Also I wish there was a veggie or non pork soba option because I wasn't able to eat that and I felt like that was included in the price and I missed out. They have no info on the website about the ingredients. Also they were out of the yourgut drink that was promised and didn't refill.

It was a little overwhelming during check in. There is a lot of information to take in between taking off the shoes, putting them in the locker by the entrance and so on. Once we settled in, It was wonderful. Everything is tidy and clean. The on sen was very nice. We used it every night during our stay. The front desk staff went above and beyond to find a GF soba restaurant for my husband.

The bed was a little hard. The shower is very small. But we used the on sen so it is really no big deal.

We usually do not get the breakfast in hotels, but this time we were glad we did. They offered both American a Japanese style breakfast which consisted of many tasty items. On the top floor they had an onsen, along with a hot and cold plunge and a sauna. They also had washers and dryers if you needed to wash some clothes.
